The two Bachelor contestants The Project's Tommy Little dated

The Bachelor Matt Agnew jokingly took a swipe at The Project’s Tommy LIttle yesterday, when Carrie Bickmore dropped the bombshell news that the comedian has been linked to two of the girls vying for the astrophysicist’s heart.

And now it’s been revealed that 34-year-old Tommy nearly found love with Abbie and Jessica, who are both currently looking for their own happy ending on The Bachelor.

"It started out with Tommy sliding into Jess' DMs and they would text each other. Tommy didn't know Jess was going to be on The Bachelor - but he sure knows now,” a source told Now to Love.

It’s believed "Abbie contacted Tommy by sliding into his DMs”, but by the look of things, it didn’t work out for the pair.

Yesterday, things got awkward on The Project panel when Matt Agnew visited the Channel 10 show for a pre-Bachie interview.

“I discovered for the first time, Tommy has been telling us that he has been linked to two of the girls in The Bachelor house tonight,” Carrie said.

The astrophysicist couldn’t stop laughing as he took aim at the 34-year-old comedian.

“As a prolific dater Tommy, I guess it would have been weirder if you weren’t linked to one of the contestants,” Matt said, as the audience laughed along.

Tommy went a bit red after the revelation, saying: “I feel like it’s a real step up for them and they will look back on me and go ‘can you believe we started at the bottom and now we’re here’, so Good Luck,”.

It’s not the first time Tommy has been linked to a Bachelor contestant either, as he briefly dated season two contestant, Chantal Hryniewski, back in 2014.

In January, Tommy shut down rumours that he had a new girlfriend, after sharing an Instagram photo of himself with actress Nicole Chamoun.

Just days later, he uploaded a screenshot from one of his Bumble dating app conversations, saying he’d just opened an account on his quest for love.
