The Project's Steve Price slams 'smug' Rebel Wilson's lockdown rant
The Project hosts have slammed Rebel Wilson after she took to her Instagram account to blast the NSW government for locking down due to the latest COVID-19 outbreak.
The 41-year-old Aussie actress posted a series of photos on social media over the weekend, with one captioned: “Sydney WTF!!!”
On another, she wrote: “You can’t keep locking down as a strategy”.
However, Steve Price wasn’t a fan of Rebel’s comments, airing his opinion on The Project.
“Not sure smug rock throwing from LA is the way to go for Rebel. I don’t think she’s done herself favours there, has she ? Stupid opinion,” he said.
Panellist Peter Helliar also blasted the star, jokingly saying: “I’m a bit sick of people not taking celebrities’ health advice seriously, to be honest.

“Next thing, people will be questioning the science behind some of (Gwyneth Paltrow’s) the GOOP products.”
However, Waleed Aly did stand up for the Aussie actress, saying: “The one thing I would say is, I know a few Australians who live overseas, and it seems to me most of them feel like that.”
Steve Price responded: “So they think we’re overreacting?”
“I think unless you’re here … The whole world thinks we’re (overreacting). But they’ve also never been through what we’ve been through. It’s like two different planets,” Waleed continued.
“We look at America and the UK and think, how could you possibly live like that and through that? They do the same with us. I think it’s just one of those situations.”
Over the weekend, Rebel also shared a photo from her mother Sue of a bare supermarket toilet paper shelf, writing: “Mum took this at Woolworths”.
People also took to Twitter to slam Rebel for her comments online.
“My favourite part of the rebel wilson stuff is she hasn’t stopped posting about her travels, private jets and luxe lifestyle the whole time. when someone is that privileged, they don’t deserve to have a platform to discuss these issues,” one person wrote.
“Rebel Wilson going off about the lockdown in Sydney while being in another country is riiiiiiiiiiich,” another person said.
