The Project host Hamish Macdonald has made his first red carpet appearance with his boyfriend, Jacob Fitzroy.

The handsome pair suited up in black tuxedos and held hands, while they posed for photographers at the GQ Gentlemen’s Ball.

Hamish posted the photo, taken by photographer Lucas Dawson, to his Instagram account for his 11,000 followers, alongside a simple love heart emoji.

Hamish looked dapper in a Lardini suit, Xacus shirt, Tom Ford tie and an Omega watch.

The former Walkley Award nominee was the moderator for a discussion on the night between musician, Adam Briggs, creator of The Teacher’s Pet podcast, Hedley Thomas, founder of the Heart on My Sleeve mental health movement, Mitch Wallis, designer, Christian Kimber and sports star, Ellyse Perry.

Hamish and Jacob first made their relationship public two weeks ago, when the 38-year-old journalist uploaded a snap of them both sitting on the beach together at Freycinet National Park in Tasmania.

“Favourite human,” Hamish wrote in the caption, beside a leaf emoji.

Just three days earlier, he also posted a snap with Jacob and his family around Easter time, at Tamarama beach in Sydney.

Hamish regularly co-hosts The Project, alongside such stars as Lisa Wilkinson, Carrie Bickmore and Waleed Aly.
