The must-have portable oven that cooks pizza in 60 seconds: 'Best ever'

The Ooni pizza oven is a must-have for any home chef wanting to level up their dinner party game.

I am a self-proclaimed 'bad cook', but since getting my hands on a Ooni Karu 12, I've literally had friends begging to come over for pizza parties.

Many of them have heard of the Ooni, and they mostly just wanted to see it in action for themselves – does it really cook pizza in just 60 seconds?

I can confirm this is absolutely the case and the amazing authentic wood-fired, stone-baked, restaurant-quality of the pizza makes the Ooni worth every penny.

For those who haven't heard of the Ooni Karu, it is a portable pizza cooker that is hooked up to gas or can run on charcoal or wood.

It takes just 15 minutes for the oven to heat up to 500 degrees, and then you're ready to slide in your pizza dough with all your favourite toppings – and have dinner on the table in just a minute.

For me, I loathe hosting dinner parties where you're slaving away in the kitchen unable to enjoy the banter and a cheeky glass of wine with friends, and it really would be the perfect appliance for busy families who struggle to find the time to cook after a long day.

This is quite literally the quickest and easiest appliance to use.

It also doesn't stop at pizza, with the Ooni app featuring a range of dishes to cook in the oven from salmon, beef and bread to vegetables and dip.

Ooni has only just launched its new website in Australia so we can all now enjoy great pizza in our own backyards.

The Ooni has more than 2000 reviews online and has been given a 5-star rating from satisfied customers.

"This is an awesome pizza oven," one wrote.

"Yes, I’m a real person. Yes, this is expensive relative to using your oven. But the pizza is outstanding.

"You need to justify the cost. So then compare delivery or going to a nice pizza joint and spending $20-50 on pizza per night."
