The Hilton Sydney: The perfect spot for the ultimate girls' weekend

The Hilton is perfectly located for a fun stay in Sydney's CBD!

It's not all that often that you get to stay in a hotel in your own city, so when I was offered a stay at The Hilton in Sydney's CBD, I jumped at the chance for a fun staycation.

The Hilton really is in the perfect spot in the city with so much shopping and entertainment at your doorstep, but there's also so much to do within the hotel.

I brought my mum along for some much-needed mother/daughter time, and we were truly spoiled during our stay.

After checking in, we went to our Twin Deluxe Room on the 41st floor, which had a great view over Sydney. Before getting too comfy, though, it was quickly time for us to head to Alysium Spa for our one-hour massages – perfect after the few hours we'd already spent shopping!

One of the lovely ladies from the spa met us on the hotel's ground floor and walked us to the spa, which you can access through the hotel's lift. You'll notice as you walk to the spa that you can also access Fitness First, which is available for guests for the duration of their stay. While I didn't get the chance to use it, it would be quite the upgrade from the small hotel gyms you usually have access to.

My mum and I agreed that our massages were one of the best we'd ever had, with our therapists using the perfect pressure so that it was both relaxing and therapeutic. After hurting my back earlier in the week, I was nervous that any massage might make things worse, but I didn't need to worry as I was taken care of so well.

After leaving the spa feeling very relaxed, it was time to get ready for Mancino Happy Hour at Zeta Bar on level four of the hotel. The bar is a hidden gem, and it really feels like you're enjoying a drink in a secret garden in the heart of Sydney while enjoying the view of the beautiful Queen Victoria Building.

We absolutely loved the Pina Mongibello cocktail, but they also make your other favourite drinks, like a margarita, so everyone is catered for!

Moving down to level two, we were excited to enjoy dinner at the chef-hatted Glass Brasserie, where we'd eaten previously but not for years.

When we arrived, we were seated at the best seat in the house, with a stunning view of the QVB and the street below, which also made for great people-watching. I'd highly recommend the restaurant for dinner even if you aren't staying in the hotel. The space is truly stunning, the food is delicious, and the service is second to none.

The restaurant features a modern Australian menu by Chef Luke Mangan. We loved everything we tried, especially the Hiramasa kingfish sashimi, the Hereford scotch fillet and the coconut rice pudding dessert!

If, after dinner, you're keen to continue the night (and you're not too full!), head to Marble Bar for a bit of a dance. We visited for another drink and a boogie on the dance floor. Though after a full day of activities, we were keen to head back to our room after a little while and enjoy our sleep on the very comfortable beds awaiting us.

As a very light sleeper, I loved that the room had blackout blinds, and you best believe I enjoyed a soak in the bath before heading off to sleep.

SHOP:

Now, a stay at the Hilton would not be complete without also visiting the Glass Brasserie for their famous buffet breakfast. You'll find a full buffet with everything you'd expect, plus you can also order from the a la carte menu if that's more your thing – all of which is available if you want to order room service as well. I loved my perfectly cooked omelette, and the coffee was also excellent!

After enjoying our (huge) breakfast, my mum and I left our bags at the hotel after checking out and hit the shops again. It was truly the perfect girls' weekend, and we felt very spoiled. I would highly suggest everyone enjoy a weekend at the Hilton, and if you can bring your mum, do it – better yet, spoil her and make it her Christmas present!
