The completely sheer wedding dress that designer brides are loving

A woman’s choice of bridal gown is often considered to be one of the most significant fashion statements of her life.

And now, one designer frock is gaining both traction and celebrity fans - despite being cut from a very different cloth than its competitors.

Hallmarked by a sheer material which frames the fashion-forward look, the gown features long sleeves and a transparent material which showcases the attached lace undergarments.

Although unusual, the dress - by Sydney-based fashion house J.Andreatta -provides a unique way for brides to stray from the norm.

And the on-trend inspiration has gained the design a collection of celebrity fans.

Home and Away star Cassie Howarth called the dress ‘superb’ while ex-Today show newsreader Sylvia Jeffreys lent her support by liking the post.

Brides-to-be also gave the gown a tick of approval - along with those who previously had no plans to tie the knot.

“I didn’t want to get married but this dress changed my mind,” wrote one woman.

“Ultimate dream dress,” wrote another.

And while the J.Andreatta creation gained positive feedback from fans, it comes just months after the brand landed in hot water when Jasmine Yarbrough wore a custom design to her wedding to Karl Stefanovic.

The designer, Jess Andreatta, who admits her style is ‘to push the boundaries’ collaborated with Jasmine to create a design full of beaded Aztec motifs to make reference to the wedding’s Mexican location.

However, some fans aren’t all that impressed by the design and have called Jasmine out for cultural appropriation - as she does not belong to either cultural group.

“She’s not remotely Mexican or Aztec, neither is he,” pointed out one critic. “It’s essentially a caricature of a stereotype of what they thought was ‘Mexico themed’.”
