The Chemical Brothers have cancelled their set at Glastonbury due to Covid.

The dance duo where due to perform at the festival on 24 June at the Arcadia stage between 11pm and 1am.

They broke the news to fans on social media earlier today, writing: "We are very sorry to announce that we won’t be DJing at Arcadia this evening at Glastonbury."

The dance legends added that they hoped the virus wouldn't impact any more tour dates: "We are hoping that Tom will recover in time to play the scheduled Castle Howard show in York on Sunday and will update with progress as soon as possible via our socials."

The Chemical Brothers' performance at the festival first looked doubtful on Wednesday, 22 June when they announced that they had to postpone a show in Cork due to members of the band and road crew testing positive for the virus.

Yesterday, the band released an update where they hoped to still play the iconic festival. They said: “We are monitoring the situation and will make a decision as soon as possible regarding remaining shows later this week.

"We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible but as we have all learnt over the last two excruciating years, COVID recovery times and severity of infection are unpredictable.”
