The Block's Scott Cam chastised over home project

The Block’s grand finale reveals are kicking off this week, and it seems all the contestants’ hard work may have inspired host Scott Cam to get on the tools himself.

The carpenter took to Instagram ahead of Sunday’s episode to share that he was getting handy around his own home for a change.

He’s seen leaning against a semi-built structure in the photo, tool belt firmly strapped to his waist – but fans couldn’t help but have a laugh at the sight of a tradie spending his weekend working on his own house.

“Call me a sceptic but I’m thinking of checking with [your wife] Ann…”, fellow Channel Nine host Leila McKinnon commented, with many more echoing the sentiment.

“What??? A tradie working on his own home.... rare sight,” one person said, “Bet your wife has waited years for you to finish this project. Lol,” chastisted another, while a third wrote, “That's unheard of - you sure are one of a kind Scotty Cam.”

Scotty’s run-in with contestants

After a drama-filled season, Scotty will surely be relieved to call ‘tools down’ on another year.

He had to play hard ball last week with blockheads Tess and Luke, warning them to ‘finish the bloody house!’ and storming off, after they complained about rival team members Mitch and Mark’s financial situation.

Scott had dropped by the Cairns couple’s house to lay down the budget law yet again - something he’s done many times over the gruelling 13-week build - but was instead confronted by Tess and Luke who challenged him over the fact that Mitch and Mark were $10,000 in debt.

“[Mitch and Mark] have been able to do all these amazing things like put speakers in the ceilings whereas we’ve reeled it in big time. If we weren’t keeping track of our invoices, we could’ve won other rooms too,” Tess argued as a frustrated Luke complained, “How’s that fair on everyone else?”

But not having a bar of it, Scotty snapped back, “They weren’t going into the red four weeks ago when you guys were. And you’re now in a better position than them. At the end of the day, we did you a favour.”

Catch The Block’s grand finale week from 7pm Sunday.
