Reality star complains he has to 'beg' wife for sex four weeks after birth
A former Bachelor star has shared intimate details about his marriage — telling fans how his wife’s sexual appetite has changed since she gave birth last month.
Tanner Tolbert, who won the American Bachelor in Paradise with his now-wife Jade Roper, was hit with criticism after claiming he must now ‘beg’ the new mum for sex.
Opening up
The shock admission came on fellow Bachelor alum Nick Viall’s podcast, Viall Files, where the pair delved into his marriage’s most intimate details.
“I want [sex] more now and Jade wants it less,” the father-of-two said, explaining his sex life initially ‘took a dive’ when Jade began breastfeeding their eldest child, Emmy.
“Then pretty much right after the breastfeeding stopped, we got pregnant again,” he said.
“Now he’s here and we have two kids. It is tough. I feel like I’ve begged for it. And I don’t want to feel selfish — I hate asking, I hate trying, ‘cause I don’t want it to be pity sex.”
Hit with criticism
Unsurprisingly, the couple’s followers were quick to find issue with the seemingly tone deaf insight, presumably shared without Jade’s consent.
“Cut your wife some slack,” wrote one woman. “You have no clue how tired she is and how much her body is going through hormonal changes after pregnancy.”
“I hope you are feel utterly ashamed by what you said. How insensitive,” wrote another.
However, Tanner did mention his young family during the stream of commentary — given their son Brooks is less than a month old and daughter Emmy has yet to turn two.
“I realise that [Jade’s] priority should be on the kids and not me,” he said, adding, “But I do feel on the back burner.”
