Teresa Palmer reveals how she made it work with her hubby's ex

Teresa Palmer has revealed how she has formed such a close relationship with her husband's ex-partner that she's going to be a bridesmaid in her wedding.

The Hacksaw Ridge star, who is stepmother to husband Mark Webber's eight-year-old son Issac, explained how she made friends with actress Frankie Shaw to ensure a harmonious relationship.

"We had to work at it but we now have this beautiful relationship where we literally co-parent," Teresa told The Courier Mail.

"We always say Isaac gets double the amount of love."

The Australia actress admitted that although they are close friends now, the friendship took time to establish, adding, "It took us about a year but open, honest, authentic communication was everything and we got there!"

Teresa and Mark began dating in 2012 and married in December 2013. They welcomed son Bodhi, in February 2014, and are currently expecting their second child together.

Although her relationship with Mark didn't work out, Frankie is godmother to Bodhi, and shares such a close bond with Teresa that she recently asked her to be bridesmaid at her wedding.

"Because we all have a similar way of doing life we know that it’s in the best interests of all of our children, including Mark and my children, that there is this beautiful relationship between all of us."

Teresa also recently spoke to the Sydney Morning Herald about what it was like to work with Mel Gibson on Hacksaw Ridge.

"My experience with him was that he was a beautiful human being who was a really active director," she told the publication.

Adding that Mel, who directs the war drama, was "down to earth", Teresa went on to say, "He was jovial and happy and that really set the tone for an amazing task and the crew."
