These days you can get a tool for just about any job in the kitchen whether that be peeling an apple, scooping out an avocado, coring a pineapple or slicing perfectly even pieces of banana.
While inexpensive, these fiddly contraptions often just end up clogging your top draws, but we’ve found an item that’s actually worth a place in your kitchen.
It’s this string pulled, five-second chopper from Tefal, on sale today for Prime Day for $47 rather than the usual $80.
It doesn’t look like much, but it’s the solution to those awful teary onion eyes.
You just chop your onion in half, chuck it into the chopper, and pull the string until you’re happy with the size of the pieces.
It’s just like a food processor but smaller, easier to clean and hand powered, so you don’t have to reach into the depths of your shelves to pull out a heavy food processor every time you need a little diced onion.
And it doesn’t just chop onions, it’ll cut just about any veggie you toss in there, so it’s great for chucking hidden veggies into your kids’ Bolognese.
Loads of different brands, including Kmart, make similar products but this one caught our eye in the Prime Day sales for its positive reviews.
