Teen earns $1,500 per week sending risqué snaps on Snapchat

It’s 6pm and while most people are winding down after a stressful day in the office, Nykayla Mills is getting ready for work.

However, unlike others, the 18-year-old doesn’t even need to leave her bedroom in order to make bank.

Instead of picking up a retail job like many of her peers, Nkayla out-earns most adults through a premium Snapchat account, where she charges users to see risqué content.

“It started when an old friend said they’d start paying me for pictures, and as the money was actually pretty decent I thought, ‘this could turn into something’,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle.

“One night I put up a story on my main Snapchat account and within five minutes I had 150 people messaging me saying they were willing to pay for it too.

“Now I upload everything from pole work to nude pictures, a lot of toy play and private sessions, which can be tailored to fit pretty much any preference.”

In total, more than 500 people pay for access to the service, ranging from $20 for one month, $35 for two or $50 for a lifetime subscription.

‘Privates’ are billed at $15 for 10 mins, $50 for half an hour or $100 per hour, with each seeing Nkayla and a client exchange raunchy messages, pictures and videos over the app.

“I can make anything up to $1500 a week,” she said, adding: “like everything, it depends on how much effort you put into it. What you give is what you get.”

A typical day sees the teen, who once worked as a stripper, ‘wake up, put up a few pictures and then do some pole work’ which she swiftly posts on her story.

“The job pretty much allows me to do my own thing until six o’clock and from six until 11 I’m online,” she said.

These nighttime sessions can range from seeing to people’s personal fetishes, stripping videos and sexting over the app’s message service.

Her most unusual request? A practice called pay pigging which sees a client consent to be financially dominated - in other words they plead with Nkayla to drain their bank account.

“It’s all consensual, you make sure of that up front but you’ve got to be very dominant,” she said.

“I’ll be like: ‘Send me $500 now or I’ll send a picture to your parents’. They want to be blackmailed.

“It’s just another fetish really, and if they’re into that I’m happy to do it. We always set the limits out first so I know how much is too much.

“Like I’ve had guys asked for me to take ten grand, but I just couldn’t do that, $2,000 was the most I’ve made from one hit.”

Surprisingly Nykayla says most of her clientele are young men aged between 18 and 24, along with a handful of similarly-aged women.

“I’ve only got four people over the age of 35,” she noted.

“Some of (my subscribers) have been friends in the past or people who I’ve gone to school with, but I try to keep as many people from my local area off the account.”

As for a real life sugar daddy? Nkayla’s not interested.

“I would never even consider being a sugar baby. I get offers every single day for it but it’s just something I’m not interested in,” she said.

“There’s a few guys who know it’s my birthday coming up so they send me a bit of money - an allowance, things like that.”

However, she does offer a support-like option for those subscribed to her Snapchat account - which she says is one of the best parts of the job.

“A part of the service, they can get free private chats and can message me at any time about anything,” she said.

“A lot of these people are going through a lot of things and they message me and sometimes it makes them feel better about entire situations.

“At first it was a get rich quick idea but then I actually built these connections with people who were so happy with what I was doing and I thought, maybe I should continue with this, just because I love it.”
