Ted Danson Is A Man on the Inside in Netflix Comedy — Spy First Photos!
We spy a surreptitious-looking Ted Danson in the first photos from the two-time Emmy winner’s upcoming Netflix comedy.
Netflix on Friday released a sextet of photos from A Man on the Inside (fka A Classic Spy), its new comedy series from The Good Place creator Mike Schur.

Currently on track for an eight-episode, November release, the series stars Danson as Charles, a retiree who gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a private investigator and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.
Created for TV by Schur, A Man on the Inside is based on the documentary The Mole Agent, which was a 2021 Oscar nominee for Best Documentary feature.
In addition to sitcom legend Danson, the cast includes Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as Didi, the “all-seeing, all-knowing” managing director of Charles’ San Francisco-based retirement facility; Eugene Cordero (The Good Place‘s Pillboi) as Charles’ son-in-law Joel; Jama Williamson (The Good Place‘s Val) as Beatrice, the retirement facility’s upbeat activities director; and Marc Evan Jackson (Brooklyn Nine-Nine‘s Kevin and The Good Place‘s Shawn) as Evan, the client who hires the investigator for which Charles becomes a mole.
Additionally, you have Mary Elizabeth Ellis (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) playing Charles’ daughter Emily, Lilah Richcreek Estrada (Chicago Med) as private investigator Julie, Stephen Mckinley Henderson (Fences) as D.C. transplant Calbert, Sally Struthers (All in the Family) as Charles’ romantic admirer Virginia and Margaret Avery (Being Mary Jane) as Virginia’s BFF Florence, John Getz (Grace & Frankie) as retirement home lothario Elliott, Susan Ruttan (Mom) as Charles’ fashionable neighbor Gladys, Lori Tan Chinn (Orange Is the New Black) as ruthless resident council president Susan, and Clyde Kusatsu (Young Rock) as proud Princeton graduate Grant.
Wyatt Yang, Deuce Basco, Lincoln Lambert and Kerry O’Malley round out the ensemble.
