Disney is bringing a little magic to the holiday season with their latest short film.

Back in November, Disney surprised fans by releasing a four-minute holiday short called The Boy and the Octopus. An original story that was created and directed by Taika Waititi, folks follow the tale of a young boy who becomes friends with an octopus he meets while swimming at the beach. As the two encounter the love and joy from the most wonderful time of the year, they experience warmth and friendship and learn an important message.

"Every journey starts with a dream," the caption reads for the clip posted on YouTube. "Disney invites you to share holiday magic with your loved ones through this heartfelt story of wonder and friendship."

After folks watched the new holiday ad from Disney, folks couldn't help but get sentimental about it in the comments.

"The most precious ever … in tears 😅," one person wrote. "So cute. So magical. So perfect. So Disney," another commented. "This was the best ad I ever got on YouTube AND the best Disney film in a while... I literally started crying when I heard 'Part of Your World,' overwhelmed by nostalgia and magical dreamy vibe of Christmas... So beautiful...," a different viewer added.

While The Boy and the Octopus is a new story, it wouldn't be a Disney short without featuring easter eggs from past projects. Along with the music from "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid playing throughout, viewers may catch a Buzz Lightyear action figure from Toy Story and a Stars Wars lightsaber in the boy's bedroom. What's more, the octopus goes outside to experience the holidays with the boy while hiding under a Mickey Mouse beanie. And possibly the most notable reference of all, the TV in the boy's home has the 1994 film The Santa Clause playing, all while near a fish tank filled with clown fish to highlight the 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo.

So much nostalgia, we can't handle it!
