Teams Pair Up and Go Down! Who Went Home on 'The Amazing Race 37' Premiere Tonight?
Last week, The Amazing Race debuted its newest "season of surprises" in a big way, with the first-ever "Fork in the Road" and two eliminations. But there was no rest for the wicked, as the remaining 12 teams flew off to their next country: Japan. There, they faced the return of a twist from over 20 seasons ago–the Intersection–that forced the duos to pair up in a Roadblock. And while some drummed up enough teamwork to change their fate in the race, others quickly fell out of time with the competition, in a day full of ups and downs.
Check out our spoiler-filled recap below to find out who went home from the race on The Amazing Race 37 tonight.
Who was eliminated in The Amazing Race 37 Week 2 tonight?
Ernest Cato and Bridget Cato – Father and daughter
As a Chicago police officer for over 30 years, Ernest entered the race trying to merge his previous authority role over his daughter, and also the friendship that has blossomed when she became an adult. After a steady performance in the premiere, they got out to a strong start in Leg 2, arriving at the Roadblock in first place. Unfortunately, Ernest's struggles mastering a drum routine had him feeling beat. Over the course of an afternoon, he (and by proxy, Mark, with whom he was partnered in the Intersection) fell from the top of the pack to dead last. Once they eventually got out of the Roadblock, Ernest and Bridget were not able to finesse their sumo sash wraps, tying off their time on the race.
Which teams finished at the top of The Amazing Race 37 Week 2 tonight?
After a rather intense reaction to not winning the premiere leg, Jonathan and Ana Towns got their wish–on their seventh wedding anniversary no less–when they got the first-place finish they desired. In second place were Scott and Lori Thompson, who went from being on the very last flight into Japan to soaring to the top of the pack with their music skills and attention to detail. And Alyssa and Josiah Borden continued their steady performance with a third-place finish.

Nick and Mike Fiorito continued their teamwork issues from the premiere. The two got hung up at the Detour, realizing the race that they had been admiring and applying for over seven years was a lot harder than it looked. And just barely escaping elimination was another pair of siblings in Han and Holden Nguyen. After outlining their biggest enemy is self-sabotage, the two nearly fell victim to it during the Detour, but they were able to survive after catching a crucial detail.
