Taylor Swift manifested a fame-savvy partner long before she and Travis Kelce met.

In a recently resurfaced 2011 interview with 60 Minutes shared on the latest episode of the program's A Second Look podcast, Swift, then 21, got candid about her wish for a potential partner to be able to handle fame at the same level she does.

“It’s so heartbreaking when things click, but your comfort level with fame is so different than [the person you’re dating],” she told the outlet at the time. “‘Cause I don’t care … It doesn’t matter to me who’s looking, but it does to some people.”

Swift, now 34, further highlighted how “You couldn’t really have a good relationship with someone who cares that much. It seems a little unnecessary to care that much about keeping people out.”

Thankfully for the singer's wishes, just over a decade later she would find a boyfriend seemingly all-in on the attention that their high-profile relationship draws. In the time since she and Kelce, 34, have gone public with their romance, the pair have been spotted everywhere from the U.S. Open to the 2024 Super Bowl and lower-key romantic evenings out in New York City.

The NFL star even appeared alongside Swift at her London Eras Tour show, carrying her across the stage while donning a black tuxedo.

Kelce said during a September appearance on CBS Mornings that living in Swift's spotlight is "the life I chose, I guess," while adding, "I have fun with it. It comes with the territory of wanting to do fun activities like this.”

"Everyone’s loving it. Mama Kelce is having so much fun,” the Kansas City tight end explained of his family's reaction to the massive rise in fame he has encountered in the same interview. “I think my dad is slowly getting more comfortable with it, and Jason has always been a pro at it,” he added of his brother, retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, 36.

In that same interview, Kelce opened up about why he thinks “people are rooting for him" as his profile has risen thanks to his relationship with Swift.

“I hope it’s because they see I’m just a genuinely good person and I love what I do and I love doing it with the people that I’m doing it with,” he further noted at the time. “I’d rather give everybody happiness and something to cheer about than otherwise.”
