Taylor Swift’s 1989-era girl squad might be no more, but the “Blank Space” singer showed there’s no bad blood as she publicly shared her well wishes for one of its founding members. While there’s been some speculation among Swifties about whether Swift and Hailee Steinfeld are still friends, the “Cruel Summer” singer subtly revealed there was nothing but love between the previously inseparable besties. Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce headed to Instagram to publicly react to Steinfeld’s engagement to a fellow football player over the weekend.

On Friday, November 29, the Marvels actress revealed in a sweet joint Instagram post that Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had proposed during his week off from the NFL. The two shared a sweet photo that captured the football player down on one knee while surrounded by an archway of roses, candles, and the ocean in the background. The caption—which featured a date and the infinity emoji—revealed that Allen had popped the question one week earlier on November 22.

Allen and Steinfeld were first romantically linked back in May 2023, just a few months before Swift started hanging out with her own football beau in July. Kelce was one of the first to offer a message of support, commenting, “Congratulations!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻.” Swift also shared her congratulations by liking the post.

While the two couples haven’t been spotted hanging out together, Allen is friendly with Kelce and has been photographed hugging Kelce's teammate Patrick Mahomes on the field. Meanwhile, Steinfeld–who was a part of Swift’s inner circle and even starred in her "Bad Blood" music video back in 2014–told People in a 2023 interview that she was hoping to make it to one of Swift’s Eras tour shows.

“I’m literally chasing the dates of her Eras tour trying to figure out when I can make it,” Steinfeld told the publication about Swift, whom she previously said was like her "big sister." The singer-actress, who shared a love of baking with Swift, hasn't joined Swift's recent girls’ nights out with Gigi Hadid, Brittany Mahomes, Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, and Sophie Turner. However, she reiterated that her friendship with Swift was still a priority.

“I mean, you get a call from Ms. Swift and you run to the phone,” she continued. “It doesn't even matter what's about to be said on the other side. You run to the phone, you pick it up.”
