Taylor Swift Nearly Takes a Tumble in Behind-the-Scenes Video From VMAs
The Errors Tour has bled into the off-season!
Taylor Swift is known for just "vibing along" when it comes to her role as an audience member at music award shows like the VMAs, but during this year's broadcast, she was so wrapped up in the moment that she nearly took a tumble to the ground.
In a video taken by an audience member from the upper level of the UBS Arena, the singer could be seen below, standing next to her friend and frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff and his wife Margaret Qualley. The trio conversed while she grooved along to the song playing in the background, lifting her hands up and waving them to the beat.
But after leaning in close to talk, Swift took a step back to return to her original position and lost her footing, grabbing onto Qualley's arm to stop herself from fully losing her balance. She recovered quickly, with Qualley guiding her back up into a fully standing position before they both appeared to turn to look for whatever the "Mastermind" songstress had tripped on.
One fan who reshared the clip on X joked that if Swift's beau Travis Kelce had accompanied her to the event, where she took home six of her 12 nominations, she wouldn't have "immediately almost eat[en] face," a kinder phrasing of the classic description for falling unexpectedly.
Fans have previously taken note of how the tight end basically serves as her bodyguard, too, with her actual security detail once having been caught on camera visibly relaxing as the NFL star took his place next to the singer at a charity event.
While the two enjoyed a night off at Coachella, Kelce was also caught on camera towering above Swift as the two watched Ice Spice perform, with fans fawning over the way he was "standing behind her to make sure she’s safe 🥺🥺🥺."
