Ingelsby has been based at HBO since 2021, the same year that “Mare of Easttown” debuted. Ingelsby created that limited series in addition to serving as executive producer and showrunner. The show, which followed a murder investigation in a suburb of Philadelphia, marked Ingelsby’s television writing debut.
“Mare of Easttown” proved to be a major critical success for HBO, with the show picking up 16 Emmy nominations. Series stars Kate Winslet, Julianne Nicholson, and Evan Peters all picked up Emmys for the series, while Ingelsby was nominated for best writing for a limited series. “Mare of Easttown” was also nominated for best limited series that year. Winslet also won a Golden Globe for the show, which was also nominated for best limited series at the Golden Globes.
“Task” is also set in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Per the official logline, the series “follows Tom (Mark Ruffalo), an FBI agent leading a task force meant to tend to a string of drug-house robberies led by an unsuspecting family man (Tom Pelphrey).”
Ingelsby wrote “Task” and executive produces alongside directors Jeremiah Zagar and Salli Richardson-Whitfield; Ruffalo; wiip’s Paul Lee and Mark Roybal; and David Crockett. Co-executive producers include Nicole Jordan-Webber and Public Record’s Jeremy Yaches.
In film, Ingelsby has written the features “Out of the Furnace” starring Sam Shepard and Christian Bale, “Our Friend” with Casey Affleck and Jason Segel, and “The Way Back” starring Ben Affleck. He also wrote and produced the Matthew McConaughey and America Ferrera drama “The Lost Bus,” which is set to release in 2025.
Ingelsby is repped by LBI Entertainment, CAA and McKuin Frankel.
