Tammin Sursok opens up about 'soul destroying' parenting moment
Former Home and Away star Tammin Sursok has been honest about how hard it is to raise children, opening up about ‘soul destroying’ tantrums in a candid post on Instagram.
The actress shared a picture of herself with her two daughters, Phoenix, 8, and Lennon, 3, and while the family were all smiles, the caption told a different story.
“Real talk,” she started.
"Parenting, in general can be rough, but parenting a three year old is another level. If you are a mom of a three year old/toddler you get it.
“The tantrums are soul destroying and I patiently sit and watch knowing she’s trying to make sense of the world,” she admitted.
“I love her and guide her and give her boundaries, but man sometimes I want to sit in my closet with wine and chocolate.”

The star told the story of how she felt judged by another parent at a playground, and explains why she wants other parents to have compassion.
“Today we went to a playground and Lennon was wanting to get on a slide that someone else’s kid was on. The mom gave me a massive eye roll and I thought…really?
“Aren’t we in this together? Don’t pretend to me that you haven’t had to drag your kid out of somewhere, or that you haven’t cried in the car not wanting your kids to see.”
The Pretty Little Liars actress, 38, went on to be completely honest about how being a mum isn’t always easy.
“Being a mom, hands down, is the best thing I’ve ever done. And it’s also the hardest.
“It's tried and tested me daily, it's made me look at my shortcomings and search for tools on how to be better.
“It’s taught me to have grace and also broken me at times. It’s messy, magical and maddening. All at the same time,” she wrote.
The star asked her followers to be sympathetic if they see a parent with a screaming toddler, saying that this means more than anything.
“Now when can I sit in the closet and have chocolate and wine?” she joked.
Tammin’s fans were quick to praise the actress for being so open about her struggles, with one writing: “Ugh I needed this today. Thank you.”
Another wrote, “The emotions are big, and the tantrums are bigger. My patience is stretched to the limit each and every day.”
One slammed the other mum for judging Tammin, “Can’t believe how many mums will judge another mum. This is why I don’t do mums groups.”
A fellow parent added, “As hard as this age is, just know the days are long but the years are short! She will be out of this stage before you know it and you will be wondering where this time has gone.”
