Taco Bell has not been shy about bringing us brand-new creations this summer. Last month, the Cheesy Street Chalupa debuted with a shell that gave us those elusive Quesalupa vibes. July also brought us the new Crunchwrap Sliders, a compact version of the popular Crunchwrap Supreme. Get ready because Taco Bell is at it again this month with a new flavor of yet another innovation set to make its official debut in Houston.

Taco Bell Testing New Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas

Lucky Taco Bell fans in Houston are testing its latest cheesy creation: the new Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupa, a take on its popular chalupa with a Mexican street taco feel.

The chalupa shells are smaller in size, similar to a traditional street taco, and toasted with Cheddar cheese for an extra cheesy crunch. For protein, consumers can choose between Cantina Slow-Roasted Chicken or grilled steak. Each chalupa is then topped with fresh cilantro, onions, shredded cheese, and Chile Lime Crema Sauce.

The new Toasted Cheddar Street Chalupas range between $4.99 and $5.99 depending on the specific Taco Bell location. While this latest menu addition is currently being tested out only in Houston, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that Taco Bell will bring it nationwide soon.

How to Get Taco Bell Menu Items for Only $1

Sure, Houstonians have the new street chalupas, but that doesn’t mean they're the only ones who can enjoy some seriously tasty deals on your favorite Taco Bell items. Taco Bell Rewards Members can log on to the Taco Bell app every Tuesday to reap the benefits of special food offers and discounts, including $1 Nachos BellGrande for the first 20,000 fans who order on Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. PST.

Come September, there are even more ways to save on your favorite items, such as scoring a $1 Burrito Supreme on Sept. 3 (starting at 2 p.m. PST for two hours) and a $1 Crunchwrap Supreme offered to the first 20,000 members who order at 2 p.m. PST. On Sept. 17, you can enjoy a $1 Cantina Chicken Soft Taco for two hours starting at 2 p.m. PST.
