Sydney Sweeney Paired Her Ultra Low-Rise Jeans with Visible White Boxers
Is this the new whale tail?
With the Met Gala, aka fashion’s biggest night out, just days away, Sydney Sweeney is flexing her street style skills by reinventing the Canadian tuxedo. On Saturday, May 4, the Anyone But You star stepped out in not one, but two very different denim-on-denim ‘fits – including one styled with a pair of visible white boxer briefs. While heading to a fitting for her Met Gala look in Gramercy Park, the actress took cues from the Y2K era with head-turning Miu Miu jean co-ords.
Sweeney’s cropped denim tube top, which spelled out Miu Miu in the front, was edged with gold velvet and held together by a thin leather strap. The matching slouchy boyfriend-style jeans were slung low across her hips, and held up with a black buckled belt. The trousers were also hemmed with the same gold velvet and featured Miu Miu branding on the back pockets. The Euphoria alum allowed her underwear – a pair of men’s white boxer shorts – to peek out over her pants.
Sweeney finished off her look with an effortless blowout, black sunglasses, black pointy-toed heels, and a white Miu Miu Wander Matelassé shoulder bag that complemented the waistband of her underwear.
Later that night, the star was back on the Noughties style train, this time reinventing the peplum top. The Immaculate actress brought her double denim fashion show to the Upper East Side, wearing a deconstructed long dark jean button up shirt with a flared hem. Her collared top – which had vents on the shoulders – featured corset-style paneling on the bodice, and visible stitching on the shoulders, arms, and front of the shirt. Sweeney paired the statement top with tiny Daisy Dukes in a matching material and pointy-toed white heels with a black embellishment in the front. Aviator-style sunglasses and the same slouchy purse from earlier in the day rounded off her spring look.
