Swiftie Jake Shane Hasn't Met Taylor Swift Yet, but He Knows Exactly What He Would Tell Her (Exclusive)
The creator is a huge Swiftie and previously attended all three nights of the Eras Tour in Las Vegas
Jake Shane is opening up about his friendships behind the scenes — and the ones he hopes to foster.
Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE ahead of his upcoming Therapuss Live, tour, the content creator, who has garnered over 3.2 million followers on TikTok and 834,000 followers on Instagram, discusses how he balances his longstanding friendships with his new celebrity connections.
"We all kind of hang out. Tate [McRae] is very close with all my friends, so if you're friends with me, you're friends with my friends. There’s really no need for balance," he tells PEOPLE. "Sofia [Richie] feels more like family. I've known her long before all of this because Elliot's little sister is my best friend. Everyone just mixes together."

Shane has welcomed many of his close celebrity friends on his podcast, including John Summit, Alix Earle, Joe Jonas and Charli XCX. He also became friends with McRae and actor Glen Powell while working out at Alo.
Looking ahead, the influencer hopes to invite stars like Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey, Jennifer Lawrence, Quinta Brunson and, of course, Taylor Swift to his podcast.
As a huge Swiftie, Shane frequently shares Swift-related content on social media. In April, he posted a TikTok of himself listening to the Tortured Poets Department, which went viral with 5.3 million views.
"No words for how this album has changed my life," he captioned the video. Along with this, he shared a detailed review of the album on Instagram.
The creator also attended all three nights of the singer's Eras Tour in Las Vegas in March 2023, dressing up as a key lime green dog on the final night, referencing a line from her Folklore song "The Last Great American Dynasty."
Though he's never been in contact with the "Blank Space" singer, Shane has thought a lot about what he would tell her if they ever did meet.
"I feel like I would let her lead the conversation. If you're talking to Taylor Swift, she's leading that conversation, not you," he says. "But I would ask her what her favorite song to write has ever been or if there’s something surprising about a song that most people don’t know. I love those fun facts."
He also shares that while he’s never watched football, he’s begun tuning in just for Swift, who has attended many Kansas City Chiefs games in support of her boyfriend Travis Kelce. If given the chance to attend a Chiefs game, Shane's answer would be an enthusiastic "yes."
In all his friendships, the New York City native prioritizes supporting them in their endeavors. Recently, Shane attended McRae's show at Madison Square Garden in N.Y.C., describing the experience as "unreal." "It was such a cool moment, seeing her shine like that — it was just insane."
He adds, "I got to support Glen [Powell] at his Twisters red carpet premiere, and right after that, I went to Tate's show at the Greek. Just getting to support your friends doing super cool things is awesome. I also saw Renée [Rapp] perform at Lollapalooza, and witnessing them shine is incredible."
The University of California alum has also embraced his role as "Guncle" (gay uncle) to Richie's 4-month-old daughter, Eloise. However, he jokes that he doesn’t think Richie trusts him to babysit alone just yet.
"I would feed the baby candy," he laughs. "I don’t know what would happen, but I’m a very good Guncle. I love Eloise more than anything in the world. She is literally perfect."
This month, Shane was also on the red carpet at the MTV VMAs, where he was "shocked" by how many people came up to talk to him. The most surprising was Vanguard Award winner Katy Perry, who told him she was a fan of his podcast.
"It just doesn't feel real," Shane says when asked about his rise to fame. "I don’t know if it’s because of the meds I'm on or whatever, but when I hear these people follow me, it’s sometimes hard to process as a real fact."
