Sunrise's Nat Barr gets 'quite emotional' as she surprises fans with early show exit
"Today is a big day for me," the host announced before leaving around 8am.
Sunrise's Nat Barr surprised fans on Wednesday morning when she left the show early, revealing the 'emotional' reason behind her swift exit at around 8am.
The host revealed she would be leaving early to attend her youngest son Hunter's final school assembly, telling her co-hosts, "Today is a big day for me, it's our last son's last school assembly so I'm about to take off."
"That's so exciting," Monique Wright responded.
"It’s quite emotional! I’m sure lots of viewers have gone through it," Nat added. "It’s kind of big, bit of a milestone."

Matt 'Shirvo' Shirvington asked Nat how Hunter was feeling in the lead-up to finishing school, with the host responding, "Yeah he’s feeling good but it’s scary. HSC is coming up in NSW - 11 October all that starts, but last day of school, we all remember that don’t we?"
Monique added that it may be a "bigger day for mums and dads", with Nat agreeing, "Especially your last one going through."
"Your baby!" Shirvo added, with Nat saying she'd be leaving after the next interview.
Nat previously spoke about Hunter's final days of school during an interview with Miranda Kerr last week.

The host told Miranda, who is expecting her fourth son with husband, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel, to make the most out of her boys' childhood years, adding she was already becoming emotional about Hunter finishing school.
"It's my last child's last day of school today, so I know it gets busy, but make the most of it," Nat told the model. "Because then you'll be crying like I will be next week when they have their assembly."
