The resurfaced clip, which was featured on the breakfast program on Tuesday morning to celebrate 45 years of the iconic Australian rock band, shows Kochie wearing aviator sunglasses while singing over the track and performing his best dance moves for the camera.
“It’s INXS day on Sunrise so we’ve dug out this classic clip from the archives of @kochie_online doing his best Michael Hutchence,” the show’s Instagram account captioned the video.
A number of followers quickly took to the comments to roast the TV star and urge him not to sing again.
“That is really bad, painful to even watch,” one person shared, while another added, “It’s just wrong”.
“Thank F that’s over,” a third replied, followed by someone else who said, “Please don’t ever repeat it”.
“God you killed a great song,” a different user remarked, with another writing, “Thanks guys now I need therapy”.
“Don’t give up your day job,” one viewer criticised.
‘Made my day’
Meanwhile, there were quite a few fans who praised Kochie’s efforts and even encouraged him to go on The Masked Singer.
“I love this, a great way to start a Tuesday,” one viewer commented, while another agreed, “That made my day”.
“Way to go Kochie,” someone else said, followed by a fourth who wrote, “That was hysterical!”
“Do you know what I love the best? The fact that many of us like to sing, and even when we know we don’t have the voice [or] the tune, we still do it because we like to sing. You did it perfectly Kochie!” another follower shared.
The post comes shortly after Kochie poked fun at his co-host Nat Barr by hilariously recreating one of her videos on Instagram.
Earlier this month, Nat gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into getting herself ready to present the breakfast show.
A video posted online featured Nat wearing a black hairdressing cape with bed hair and a makeup-free face, before hitting the camera and revealing her stunning early-morning transformation.
Kochie then decided to share his own pre-show transformation using the exact same ‘Before and after’ audio as Nat.
The clip shows Kochie sitting at the Brekky Central desk with a makeup artist helping to make him TV ready by applying mattifying powder to his face.
The 66-year-old then hits the phone to reveal a somewhat less-dramatic transformation, simply putting on his glasses and giving a wide smile to the camera.
“@kochie_online here to prove that he too can do a before and after,” the show wrote in the caption alongside the hashtag ‘Nailed it’.
