After chatting with CommSec’s Savanth Sebastian, Kochie casually threw to regular sports presenter Mark Beretta aka “Beretts” at the sports desk.

Only problem – Beretts wasn’t presenting today. Instead, his post was being filled by Seven personality Simon Reeve.

As the camera cut to Simon, who was looking more than a little dejected, poor Kochie realised his epic mistake.

“You can see it’s early”, a very embarrassed Kochie said, “my apologies”.

After laughing through the awkwardness, Simon told Kochie “it’s OK mate”.

The camera then cut to co-host Samantha Armytage and newsreader Natalie Barr who were both giggling behind the desk.

"We love you Reevo," Natalie yelled out.

While Sam told the presenter not to worry because "you're your own man".

As for Beretts, he was busy kicking back in a chopper high above Sydney.

He posted this photo to Instagram with the caption: Morning Sydney! #whatacity

Later, as Simon began reading the sports news, Kochie snuck up behind him and gave his old mate a cuddle.
