Suits star's surprising confession about Meghan Markle: 'She'll see'
"We don't have her number."
Suits star Gina Torres has hinted that she and her co-stars are no longer close with Meghan Markle, as the stars of the show attended the Golden Globes without the Duchess of Sussex on Sunday.
Gina, who played Jessica Pearson in the series, attended the awards show with her fellow Suits co-stars Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht and Sarah Rafferty, with the foursome handing out an award to celebrate the show's huge success on Netflix, four years after they wrapped.
While speaking to Variety on the red carpet, Gina was asked who texted Meghan, telling her she needed to come to the Golden Globes, with the Suits star responding, "We don’t have her number. We just don't."
"That's a good one!" reporter Marc Malkin responded.
"She’ll see. She’ll watch. She’ll be happy that we’re here," Gina added.

Gina attended Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry in 2018 alongside Patrick, Gabriel, Sarah and their co-star Rick Hoffman.
Meghan played Rachel Zane on the show, who would go on to marry Patrick's Mike Ross, and while Gina may not have had much to say about the Duchess, Patrick has publicly defended her multiple times.
In 2021, he slammed claims Meghan was bullying palace staff, writing, "Meghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on Suits. From day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive member of our television family.
"She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued. It’s OBSCENE that the Royal Family, who’s newest member is currently GROWING INSIDE OF HER [Princess Lilibet], is promoting and amplifying accusations of ‘bullying’ against a woman who herself was basically forced to flea the UK in order protect her family and her own mental health."
More recently, the star shared several behind-the-scenes images of Meghan and their co-stars with the caption reading, "I miss my friends," however, he quickly removed them due to the SAG strike.
"The last couple of days I foolishly and thoughtlessly let a trip down Suits memory lane distract me from the very real and ongoing fight everyone in [SAG-AFTRA] continues to wage in its effort to win our membership realistic 21st-century compensation and protections," he wrote on his Instagram Stories.

The actor added that it was "an embarrassing oversight", saying he was "incredibly sorry".
"So grateful to those who gently and swiftly course-corrected me here," Patrick wrote. "And look forward to continuing the fight in the days and weeks ahead."
