Subway's New Footlong Collab Firmly Divides Fans: 'Stick to Serving Sandwiches'
After years of encouraging their customers to "eat fresh" and promoting their sandwiches as a healthier alternative to fast food, it appears Subway is going in a slightly different direction.
Food blogger Snackolator took to Instagram this week to announce a brand new footlong collab from the popular chain: The Doritos Footlong Nachos.

"Subway is getting wild with the footlong menu with Doritos Footlong Nachos!" the caption read. "They are currently being tested in a number of stores around the country and feature Doritos on the bottom which is then topped with melted cheese triangles, meat, toppings, and some additional sauces."
According to the post, while the nachos aren't available everywhere just yet, they "should be a nationwide release in the spring."
"The toppings might change (or maybe you can just pick them out like you would with a sub) but this should be a fun footlong option," Snackolator added.

Fans were divided about whether or not the snack was a good idea.
"Stick to serving sandwiches," wrote one person.
"They are literally trying anything at this point," complained someone else.
"You know they're gonna either be stale af or soggy af," another commenter predicted.
"Boy I really wish Subway sold nachos-said no one ever," joked a fourth Instagram user, with another person chiming in to say the nachos seemed "like something Taco Bell would sell."
Some people had a more optimistic take, however.
"I’m glad subway is finally cutting the bull with being a healthy place and giving the people what they want 🤤😂," somebody pointed out.
"I would definitely try it at least once," one fan admitted.
