Subway Fans 'Can't Wait' for Limited-Time Dessert Menu Offering Just in Time for the Holidays
Subway customers are counting down the days to the release of a special new dessert item expected to arrive just in time for the holiday season.
Those who have enjoyed the sandwich shop’s previous forays into footlong cookie baking are particularly excited for what’s coming this November.
According to a preview that Markie Devo shared on Instagram on Saturday, Sept. 21, Subway is gearing up to release a new holiday-inspired footlong cookie. The Double Chocolate Peppermint Footlong Cookie is expected to arrive in Subway shops throughout the U.S. starting on Nov. 1. An image of the treat included in the food blogger’s preview showed a chocolate cookie sprinkled with what looked like peppermint flakes and stretched out to reach its advertised 12-inch length.
Most fans seemed eager to try the new cookie, with one Instagram user pointing out that the initial footlong cookie Subway debuted nearly two years ago was “good” and they “can’t wait for the peppermint one 😃.” Another fan agreed, writing, “Can’t wait for the peppermint cookie.”
The Double Chocolate Peppermint Footlong Cookie’s preview image “looks good,” one Instagram user commented, while a couple of others said they “might try” the new dessert.
While many expressed enthusiasm at the idea of taste-testing the new treat, not every Subway customer was convinced. “Not a fan of peppermint in desserts they should just remove that in footlong cookie,” one Instagram recommended while another echoed their opinion of the flavor, writing, “Eww pepper mint.”
“Why not a small cookie format for the peppermint one too?” another customer wondered.
In addition to the forthcoming holiday-themed cookie, Subway is also preparing to unveil a ghost pepper bread and three new sandwiches, according to the food blogger’s Saturday post. The new bread is slated to arrive on menus starting on Oct. 1, as are the Spicy Nacho Chicken, Fiery Meatball and Spicy Nacho Steak sandwiches.
