Secret behind Bachelor Matt's geek to model transformation

When we were first introduced to this year’s Bachelor, astrophysicist Matt Agnew, fans fell in love with his glasses and nerdy look.

So they were understandably a little shocked by the absolute hunk of a man who eventually appeared on our TV screens when the season kicked off last month.

And now the team behind Matt’s makeover have revealed the biggest secret behind his transformation, which sparked plastic surgery rumours.

What’s in a haircut?

Channel 10’s wardrobe, hair and makeup senior operator Renee Wanna said it was as simple as a new hair cut to take “every day Matt to super-hot Tom Ford model Matt”.

Speaking to News.com.au, the stylist explained a man’s haircut needs to be relatively straight to give them a look of a strong jawline. She then went on to style his hair for the promo shoot in a specific way to give it a “straight squareness” that “made everything look amazing”.

“I just styled (with) product and straightening irons. It’s not just a bit of gel and ‘off you go’. You need to get the structure and everything behind it,” she said.

As well as the new hair cut, the Bachelor will be rocking over 120 different looks throughout the season.

Fans floored by Bachelor Matt’s transformation

After being introduced to the country in March as a cute spectacled Clark Kent lookalike, the man presented when the latest Bachelor season kicked off was a suave hunk of a human, with a chiselled jaw and no glasses.

Fans were quick to share their thoughts on Matt’s transformation for the show, with some saying he was almost unrecognisable.

“Is this even the same person?” read the caption next to a comparison post on The Bachelor Memes Facebook page.

“Total superman moment! Oh I didn’t realise he was hot until he took his glasses off,” wrote another, while one more fan added, “It’s Clarke Kent and Superman. Disguised by a pair of glasses!”

At the time some even believed he had gone under the knife to achieve his new look.

“His nose has changed completely so nose job??” wrote a follower.

“I knew he looked different!! Nose job much?”
