Steve Harvey Fans Divided on Host's Etiquette Around Wife: 'Men Our Age Know Better'

Steve Harvey’s fans love the way he pays tribute to his wife with admiring snapshots on social media, but a new video left some questioning the game show host’s etiquette.

Just last week, the Family Feud host posted a snapshot of Marjorie, to whom he has been married since 2007, as she posed on a staircase while wearing a gorgeous floor-length gown. The holiday-ready look received a wave of praise from fans as many informed Harvey that he was “truly blessed.”

But on Sunday, Dec. 8, some fans were left questioning the comedian’s manners when a detail stuck out to them about the way he walked beside Marjorie. The two were visiting the United Arab Emirates’ capital city to attend a couple of sporting events, including the third annual Melt Golf Classic by Steve Harvey.

It was ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that the footage Harvey later shared on Facebook was filmed. In the video, Harvey could be seen holding hands with his wife as they walked down a hallway before disappearing together through a door. Harvey, 67, was decked out in a lime green corduroy suit and dark sunglasses, while Marjorie sported an all-black look in leggings, a shirt and an oversized jacket.

Some fans who watched the short 11-second clip were surprised to see Harvey positioned next to the wall as he and Marjorie walked down the hallway. A couple of Facebook users who commented on his video suggested he should have swapped places with his partner.

“Walking on the wrong side of his wife , men our age know better as should he…!” one fan wrote.

“Steve always talking about man training……but why is his wife walking on the outside side….lol,” another fan wondered.

One fan pointed out that the two appeared to have bodyguards accompanying them, implying that the fan-recommended etiquette was not, in that particular situation, necessary. Another fan suggested that Marjorie might not have minded where her husband was positioned, writing, “She walks on that side so she can be seen.”

Aside from the few who criticized the video, most focused on praising the “Beautiful couple.”

“The Power Couple! 💪 I Love this Family ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” one fan wrote as another said the two look “so good together.”

It is “such an inspiration to see the togetherness expressed,” another Facebook user commented.
