Stacey slams MAFS trolls over death threats

Married At First Sight bride, Stacey Hampton, has hit out at online trolls, just one day after another one of the show’s contestants said their family were getting death threats.

The 25-year-old law graduate from Adelaide, who is ‘married’ to 28-year-old company director Michael Goonan, took to her Instagram account to slam the ‘disgusting’ people who threatened fellow contestant Josh Pihlak and his family on the street.

“We were here for your entertainment. The fact that people are now going out and making death threats towards other humans and even children is disgusting,” Stacey started her rant.

“And for me to sit back and let that happen and not say anything would say more about me than anyone else. It’s not happening. Don’t do it. And if you think that it’s acceptable then I suggest Susan, Karen, anonymous, whatever your frickin username is, I suggest you put the Cheetos down, go outside and go up to a child and say ‘I hope you die’ because I’d love to see that happen because I don’t think you would do that.”

Stacey went on to say that she can deal with the hate she’s been receiving since leaving the show but many others can’t.

“I don’t care but I’ve got two kids too. If you’re slagging off on me, I love it, I don’t care, call me a gold digger, I laugh, I love Gold digger by Kanye West, that’s going to be my ringtone. But when you bring other people into it, kids, juvenile kids, innocent parties who did not sign a contract, that’s disgusting,” she said.

Stacey went on to say that while she’s able to deal with the hate she’s receiving since leaving the show, many of the other contestants aren’t.

“The fact that I’m seeing my friend crumbling, can’t go to work, just in a depressed state of mind is disgusting,” she said.

“I’m not even friends with all of them and do you know what I would never say ‘go kill yourself’. Even Hayley, we don’t see eye-you-eye, you’ve seen that, I would never say that. Like reassess your life.

“Perhaps you need our psychologist’s number from the show. Be king, give us shit, cool, but don’t bring family and children in to it, it’s disgusting and it speaks more about you than anybody else.”

Stacey’s outburst came just a few hours after Josh Pihlak took to his own social media account to call out trolls.

“The reason why I’m speaking up is because it definitely takes a toll when your mum, yourself and your little brothers are even receiving death threats. It’s not cool,” he said.

“What transpired at that lunch yesterday was an absolute crock of sh*t.

“I was happy with getting a bad edit, but when it gets personal like that and everyone’s receiving death threats, it’s a joke,” he said.
