Sources Say Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Are Living Apart
The news comes as rumors of tension in their marriage make headlines.
Photos of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck together finally hit the internet after the couple hadn't been seen together since Mar. 30—but insiders say that things aren't picture-perfect for the duo. A source told People that Affleck has not been staying at their Los Angeles home. However, the publication adds that Affleck is staying in another one of their properties as he films The Accountant 2, so he may just be saving some commute time by spending the night closer to the film's set. Even after multiple publications reported that Lopez and Affleck hadn't been seen together for more than 40 days, neither of them has issued an official statement on the matter.
Work and obligations may be the reason that the two hadn't been spending time together. In addition to filming the follow-up to his 2016 thriller, Affleck participated in Netflix's roast of Tom Brady on May 5. For her part, Lopez has been working on promoting her film Atlas and is working on The Kiss of the Spider Woman in New York—and she just finished up with her duties as co-chair of the 2024 Met Gala.

Last night, both Affleck and Lopez attended an event, though they arrived separately. InTouch Weekly published photos of them attending a school event for Fin, one of the children that Affleck shares with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Both Affleck and Lopez were wearing their wedding rings. Just a day later, internet sleuths found that Lopez "liked" a post about relationship red flags, adding even more reason for conspiracy theorists who believe that the Bennifer sequel is coming to an end.

In Lopez's documentary, The Greatest Story Never Told, Affleck opened up about the public nature of their relationship. He said that he didn't want to have his love life on social media.
"Getting back together," he explained. "I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media. Then I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of like, you’re gonna marry a boat captain and you go, ‘Well, I don’t like the water.’"
He went on to say that he and Lopez are “two people with different kinds of approaches trying to learn to compromise."
Lopez and Affleck dated from 2002 to 2004 and were famously engaged, but broke up before tying the knot. They rekindled their romance in 2021 and got married the next year.
