Sonic Relaunches Popular Menu Item Fans Have 'Been Waiting For'
A fan-favorite frozen beverage is making its way back to Sonic menus, though it's only set to be available for a limited time.
The "deliciously icy" Strawberry Shortcake Snowball Slush Float, which joins several other frozen drinks available in the Flavorista Favorites lineup, is made with real strawberries and features a strawberry shortcake-flavored slush with "a snowball topping of creamy vanilla soft serve" and crunchy sugar crystals.
While a representative for the brand told Parade that the return of the fan-favorite beverage would debut at X Games Aspen 2025 on Jan. 23, with app users getting early access beginning today, Jan. 22, before it launches in-store nationwide on Jan. 27, according to Foodstagrammer Markie Devo, it's already been spotted at select locations.
It's unclear at this time how long the flavor—which is only available in a medium—is back for, but fans are rushing to get their hands on the drink.
In a Reddit thread posted after the drink was removed from menus the first time, one fan dramatically begged for similar alternatives so they wouldn't "up and croak" without the option. "This was the best thing on the menu," they declared boldly. "Pllllllllease bring it back."
"omg been waiting for her to come back😩😩," someone else gushed on Instagram, with another agreeing they "[they] need this asap."
"Omg thank you Jesus," a third wrote emphatically. "This was my biggest craving while pregnant 2023 and being pregnant again this is all I’ve been thinking about!!!"
