This Sonic Ocean Water Copycat Recipe 'Tastes Like Vacation'

If you've never been to (or heard of) Sonic, it's a drive-up fast-food restaurant. Their menu consists of a variety of fast-food items such as burgers, breakfast burritos, and fries—you get the picture. But the one thing that I especially like about Sonic is their large selection of beverages. From basic ice tea, frozen slushies and shakes to cool drinks like the Sonic Ocean Water, they've got refreshments covered. This last mention is so unique that I had to come up with a copycat recipe to enjoy it at home whenever the craving hits.

What Is Sonic Ocean Water?

Sonic Ocean Water is a cool and refreshing beverage that's supposed to look like—and remind us of—the ocean. It's not supposed to taste like the ocean, but it does have a beautiful blue color.

My kids and husband love this copycat Ocean Water recipe. Even though it's called Ocean Water, I promise it doesn't taste anything like ocean water. It does resemble the beautiful Caribbean though in its striking color. It's bubbly and sweet, with a hint of coconut flavor, and it tastes like vacation—so it's perfect to make when you're stuck at home and can't take one.
