Sofía Vergara is spending the evening with a new man.

The America’s Got Talent judge — who announced her divorce from Joe Manganiello in July — was photographed on a dinner date with orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman at Funke restaurant in Beverly Hills on Friday night.

For the evening out, Vergara, 51, wore a black lace corset with plum velvet wide-leg pants and black strappy heels, accessorizing her outfit with a deep red clutch. While Saliman — who was previously married to Grimm actress Bree Turner — kept it smart-casual in a dark shirt and jeans.

The pair were spotted both at the eatery and together in a car driven by the orthopedic surgeon on Friday evening.

A source tells PEOPLE that the actress is "dating and having fun."

"She is enjoying life. She seems positive and full of energy," the insider said, adding, “Sofia has been handling the divorce well. It wasn’t an easy decision, but she is doing great now."

Representatives for Vergara did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

According to his website, Saliman is based in Beverly Hills and is a Stanford sports medicine-trained orthopedic surgeon who operates out of Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. As part of a medicine fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, his website states, Saliman worked with the San Francisco 49ers along with several university athletic teams.

Vergara's dinner outing with Saliman comes after the actress and her husband of seven years, Manganiello, 47, announced in July that they are divorcing.

“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the couple — who married in Palm Beach, Florida, in November 2015 — shared in a statement to Page Six at the time. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect for our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

The actor filed for divorce from Vergara two days later, citing “irreconcilable differences” in divorce documents obtained by PEOPLE.  The pair did not have a prenup. Vergara made her last appearance with Manganiello at the Vanity Fair Oscar party in March 2023.

Saliman, meanwhile, separated from Turner in 2018, when the actress filed for divorce. The pair had married in 2008 and share two children. The Grimm star cited “irreconcilable differences” and requested joint legal custody of their children.
