For this week’s Saturday Night Live, “Weekend Update” co-anchor Colin Jost began by covering the latest revelations around alleged CEO assassin Luigi Mangione, who was apprehended on Monday and whose manifesto was soon released to the public.

“They found a note on [Mangione] expressing anger at corporate America,” Jost said, “Yet he went to Starbucks before the shooting and then was caught at McDonald’s.”

“So perhaps his greatest crime was hypocrisy,“ Jost joked. The late comedian Norm Macdonald would certainly disagree.

Jost later brought up how Donald Trump had won Time Magazine’s 2024 award for Person of the Year, and lamented, “No person on Earth has taken up more of our goddamned time.”

Co-anchor Michael Che also joked about Trump, saying, “Amazon is planning to donate $1 million to Donald Trump’s inauguration. It makes sense because Amazon and Trump both want to ship stuff out as fast as possible.”

The joke was accompanied by a picture of ICE officers arresting someone. “It’s the ‘90s, guys,” Che said in response to some audience groans—the line’s become a recurring gag from Che this season.

Che got more audience groans when he joked about controversial former congressman Matt Gaetz getting his own talk show on One America News Network.

“He’ll be covering everything from quinceañeras to prom night jitters,” Che said.

Later in the segment, Jost threw in a surprise dig at Michelob Ultra.

“A new report shows that for the first time ever, Michelob Ultra is the most popular draft beer,” Jost said, “Thanks to an unprecedented increase in pussies.”

A surprised Che replied, “We can do that?”

Che still won the competition for the most shocking “WU” joke of the week, however.

“Elon Musk gave over $20 million to the mysterious RPG pact, which claimed that Trump and Ruth Bader Ginsburg agreed on the issue of abortion,” he said. “Wow, I never even knew Trump got her pregnant.”
