Slip these clip-on lights, down to $20, into a walker's or runner's stocking

The bright, compact LEDs can help keep them safe and visible after dark, and the batteries will go for up to 100 hours.

There's nothing like a brisk walk or jog for a little burst of energy. But during the winter, the thought of stepping out when there's little or no daylight can be daunting, especially in spots where sidewalks are in short supply. Luckily, we found these nifty clip-on LEDs that make you more visible to drivers, and they're just $20 for two at Amazon. With Christmas just around the corner, these could be some of the most thoughtful stocking stuffers you can give.

Don't let the short days hold you hostage this winter. These LEDs will make early-morning and evening strolls feel much safer.

Why is this a good deal? 💰

While this isn't the most affordable these running and walking lights have been all year, this sale price is just a couple of bucks more than their all-time low. Also, can you really put a price on safety? (Didn't think so!)

Why do I need this? 🤔

Using Apace Vision LED Lights could not be easier. Just hook them to your belt, pockets, sneakers, jacket, dog leash, smartphone armband — anywhere, really — and enjoy up to 100 hours of battery life per light. They're small, about the size of a USB drive, and you can choose from three lighting modes to help you stand out on the road: steady, slow flashing and fast flashing.

Each light comes with four extra batteries and a mini-screwdriver for hassle-free replacement, two sturdy hook-and-loop fasteners, and a long strap for attaching the gizmo to your ankles, arms or clothing. Choose from eight colors, including green, blue, orange and red.

What reviewers say 💬

More than 6,500 shoppers gave these clip-on lights a five-star rating, with some saying they make amazing gifts.

Pros 👍

"My son is a runner and training for the Chicago marathon," one fan wrote. "These are a great stocking stuffer for your person who is outside [at] dusk or dawn as a source of protection."

"These are very inexpensive and rechargeable LED lights that you can clip onto the back of your shirt or shorts and increase your visibility at night or dusk/dawn," raved another shopper. "I had a local contractor pull up and thank me once for wearing one of these blinky lights because sometimes bikers can be hard to see, even when wearing bright clothing."

Said a third fan: "I used this while walking my dog. ... Although my dog is no longer with me, I still have the safety light and use it constantly. Perfect for when the power goes out, or if I just need some bright light. I have to be honest — it's the best thing I've ever purchased!"

Cons 👎

One more shopper and proud dog mom had this critique: "I just wish they had a way to latch on instead of just sliding on because when she gets them off, she has chewed on them a couple times." But how's this for a happy ending: "Even after she chewed one pretty good, it still works well."

"The product was great until the unit stopped working despite changing batteries," a final reviewer wrote. "But no worries. [I] reached out to Apace Vision and they replaced it immediately! Great customer service!"

Make sure you're always visible, even on foggy mornings. These clip onto your shoes with ease — and come off just as fast when your run is over.
