Simone Biles Set to Enter New Territory With Exciting Career Announcement

As she continues to enjoy her many medals from the 2024 Paris Olympics, Simone Biles is taking that gold and bringing it somewhere new, announcing that she will be opening a restaurant in Houston, Texas called Taste of Gold.

The news was announced by the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, where her new restaurant will be located. Taste of Gold is already under construction in IAH Terminal A, near Gate A8, as reported in a press release.

Fans traveling through the airport can see where the restaurant is being constructed, as it is marked with a mural of the American flag and silhouettes of a gymnast, likely meant to be Biles, flipping through the air. Taste of Gold is a partnership with The Playmakers Group and it will feature a menu curated by Mark Brezinski.

Biles commented on her new venture: "I am a foodie at heart, and our hope with Taste of Gold is to offer a beautiful dining experience that features award-winning, signature menu items with some of my favorite flavors sprinkled in for our guests.”

The restaurant's managing partner Derek Missimo also shared his feelings about Taste of Gold, calling Biles "the ultimate symbol of excellence" citing "her incredible achievements, inspirational leadership, and spirit."

"We are incredibly honored to partner with her on this restaurant which will offer something truly special to our guests and the Houston airport community," he went on.

KPRC-TV Houston also reported on the news and fans shared how excited they were about Biles' new project.

"Turns out, seven golds in the hand is worth one in the bush," joked one fan, as another said, "You GO GIRL!...High ten!"

A third commended it as a "Great business move," while someone else supported the restaurant and location, saying, "I was about to say that celebrities and restaurants rarely work out, but in an airport might actually be genius lol."

The gymnastics news platform, Gymnastics Now, declared that Biles was "✨In her entrepreneur era✨," as a fan replied, "Will there be goat on the menu?😝🤪."

One fan already committed to traveling just to try Taste of Gold, saying, "I’ll little take a drip to Houston just to go to the restaurant."

Taste of Gold is projected to open in the first quarter of 2025.
