Simone Biles Brings Husband Jonathan Owens to Hermès for 'Emotional Support' as She Purchases New Birkin

Simone Biles has a cute new accessory.

She recently revealed that she added another one of Hermès’ iconic handbags to her growing collection, and this time, she brought her husband, Jonathan Owens, 29, along to make the big purchase.

On Jan. 14, the gymnast, 27, posted an Instagram Stories video of her new addition — a light brown Birkin. She wrote on the video, that buying it required the “emotional support” of her hubby.

“Treated myself to a new lil bby while in New York,” wrote Biles, who was in town for the VTEX Connect NYC event on Jan. 13. “Jonathan came for emotional support, baby I was sweaaaating.”

The famous handbags, named after and inspired by the late Jane Birkin, can retail and resell for tens of thousands of dollars, sometimes cutting a pretty six figures, a price tag that's led to the popularity of Walmart’s $78 Birkin “dupe” on TikTok

Biles has been racking up her collection of Hermès accessories.

After the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she became the most decorated gymnast of all time, Biles revealed that her parents gifted her an Hermès bag. “Don’t be mad at me, be mad at your parents,” she wrote on Instagram Threads at the time. On the heels of the Summer Games, Biles also shared that she treated herself to an Hermès item.

Biles and Owens’ trip to the Big Apple also included sweet date nights. For one of their outings, they chose to wear laid-back ‘fits then slipped into coordinating looks for a romantic dinner. She captioned one of the pics, "Brings your bae to work day."

The couple, who wed in April 2023, celebrated New Year’s Eve with a low-key affair at home. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Biles admitted they were likely going to be in bed before the ball dropped at midnight. But speaking of her man’s swoon-worthy gesture, she revealed: “He said, ‘Don't worry, I'll get up. I'll set an alarm for 12 so I could kiss you.’ ”

After the holiday, Biles was named Sports Illustrated’s 2024 Sportsperson of the Year, which she covered in daring sequin hot pants and sexy silver stilettos.
