Fans were delighted to catch a quick, rare glimpse of Simon Cowell's only child during the latest broadcast of Britain's Got Talent.

Eric, 10, made a surprise appearance alongside judge Amanda Holden's daughter Hollie, 12, to award the second golden buzzer of the evening to Haribow, a Japanese Double Dutch group, in a move that shocked just about everyone.

The audience was so enthralled with the performance that they made their opinions loud and clear, demanding that the judges push the group through to the semi-finals so loudly that they couldn't even verbalize their own thoughts, and the two pre-teens made their wishes come true when they darted into the frame to smash the button at the crowd's behest.

In a video uploaded to Instagram by Holden, the two can be seen jumping out of their seats in the front row and rounding the judges' platform to press the button, which, according to commenters, was encouraged by Cowell.

“I’m gonna give this one to all of you,” he told the audience after the fact.

Holden probably wished he'd given her a little heads up, though, writing alongside the clip that when she caught sight of her daughter running toward the button, granting the first-ever audience choice golden buzzer, she thought she was about to be fired.

"Seriously when I saw her run up, I thought oh my God, this is the end of my contract," she emphasized in a later comment.

Meanwhile, former BGT kid Spencer Morgan lamented that he never had the opportunity to smash the button when his father, Piers Morgan, was on the show, writing,"😂 Wish kids golden buzzer was a thing when dad was a judge."

He may have missed his mark, but perhaps this will become a new tradition for judge's kids moving forward?
