Shoppers Are Lining Up to Snag Trader Joe's Mini Totes in New Spring Colors

Spring is here, and so are a new crop of Trader Joe’s Mini Totes. The canvas bags just arrived at Trader Joe’s stores nationwide in a new array of spring colors. To celebrate the season, the lauded bags now come in four new pastel hues—delicate pink, baby blue, mint green, and lovely lavender.

According to the item description of the Mini Pastel Canvas Tote Bags on the Trader Joe’s website, these reusable bags are approximately 13 inches long, 11 inches tall, and 6 inches wide, and cost $2.99 a piece. This means the cute bags are “ideal for smaller shopping trips,” and “excellent for packing up a little springtime picnic, bringing brunch supplies over to a friend’s house, or even just carrying your books and tech around school or work.” Given that these totes are all pastel-colored, they would also make great gift bags or Easter baskets for the upcoming holiday.

Not surprisingly, the totes, which are a seasonal, limited-edition item, are already attracting a ton of attention on social media. “RUN to Trader Joe’s for their NEW spring totes,” one TikTok user demanded as she filmed shoppers snagging multiple bags in different colors. “I’m SO BEYOND obsessed.”

In another TikTok, an excited shopper filmed a line that was likely hundreds of people long. “I showed up an hour early, and this line was record-breakingly long,” the customer said. “Look how far it goes.” The shopper added that TJ’s employees placed a limit on the totes, allowing customers to buy just one of each color.

And while the totes do seem to still be in stock at many Trader Joe’s locations across the country, they likely won’t remain on store shelves for long. Given the intense demand, it’s no surprise that these totes have popped on sites like eBay. In fact, people have been listing the beloved bags for as much as $1,000—nearly 335 times the $2.99 price.

When these mini totes were first introduced last February—in bold blue, green, red, and yellow shades—TJ’s shoppers were instantly smitten with them. The totes sold out in days after being hyped up by customers and social media users. When they were restocked in September 2024, they promptly sold out yet again.

So, how can you snag one of these bags for yourself? First, it’s worth a trip to your local Trader Joe’s to see if they’re still in stock. And if the totes have sold out, don’t lose hope!  “Our stores receive deliveries daily, and they will be restocked daily for as long as they are available,” a Trader Joe’s spokesperson told People. “Each store makes its own merchandising decisions, so only the store knows what is available. If customers have any questions about product availability, they can ask any Crew Member in their neighborhood store.”
