Yahoo Lifestyle Shane Gillis Sets 27-City Global Comedy Tour (EXCLUSIVE)
On the heels of an eight-city sell-out arena tour this year, comedian Shane Gillis is hitting the road again.
The stand-up megastar will usher in the new year with “Shane Gillis Live,” a 27-city tour that will kick off on Jan. 10 at San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center. Marking his biggest tour yet, Gillis is set to hit some of the biggest venues across North America and Europe, including Dallas’ American Airlines Center and London’s O2.

Gillis’ tour, in partnership with Outback Presents, includes stops at arenas such as Tampa’s Amalie Arena and Dublin’s 3Arena. The shows come on the heels of Gillis’ Netflix special “Beautiful Dogs,” which landed in Netflix Top 10 in five countries and spent two weeks in the U.S. Top 10 list. Gillis also hosted “Saturday Night Live” in February.
The comedian was famously hired and then fired from “Saturday Night Live” in 2019 after offensive jokes he previously made on a podcast resurfaced online. But he stayed in touch with “SNL” creator Lorne Michaels, who last month revealed in a Wall Street Journal interview that he was “angry” with the decision to fire Gillis, which was made by NBC brass. Michaels brought Gillis back to “SNL” for the Season 49 hosting gig.
Since hitting that career speed bump, the Pennsylvania native has morphed into a force in the stand-up space. His self-funded debut “Shane Gillis: Live in Austin” became a breakout hit for Netflix, with more than 30 million views. His 2023 follow-up for Netflix, “Beautiful Dogs,” was produced by All Things Comedy and Gillis’ production company, Dad Sick Productions, which he runs with longtime comedy partner and fellow Philadelphian John McKeever.
Gillis also stars in the Netflix comedy series “Tires,” which Gillis co-created with McKeever. He is currently working on Season 2 and continues to co-host “Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast” with comedian Matt McCusker. The show is the Number 1 Patreon podcast in the world, with more than 500 million downloads each month.
