Little black dresses aren’t known for being attention grabbing, but add a gravity-defying neckline and you’re sure to turn heads.
At least that’s what this strapless number from Maison Femalien managed to do when Seven presenter and former Olympic Hockeyroo, Georgie Parker, wore it to the AFLW Awards in Melbourne this week.
Georgie, who hosts Seven’s post game AFL shows Armchair Experts and The Sunday Session, looked incredible in the $316 dress that was held up by a generous amount of fashion tape.
Joking that she was ‘sponsored by Hollywood tape’ in a selfie posted to Instagram yesterday, Georgie was flooded with praise from followers who couldn’t get enough of the unique look.
“Omggggg how hot are u?,” one person exclaimed, while another said, “How’s it feel to be this good looking?”
There were also a lot of “stunning” and “incredible”s, as well as a “Holy Moly,” and “Oooooo la la.”
The dress, whose cut-out scalloped neckline adds a modern twist to the traditional LBD, cinches in at the waist before dropping down to an ankle-grazing pencil skirt.
Adding yet more drama to the daring design is a thigh-high split on one side.
Fans of reality TV would have seen MAFS sweetheart, Ella Ding, rocking the sister version of this Maison Femalien dress just last week when she attended the Fitzy and Wippa Married at First Sight dinner party.
Her version - appropriately named the 'Ella' - is a mini dress made of a ruched fabric, but has that same scene-stealing neckline.
Both are also reminiscent of this equally eye-popping cut-out dress worn by former Love Island Australia star, Margarita Smith, to a wedding at the weekend.
She was also inundated with praise, and no small number of fire emojis, when she posted photos of the look to Instagram.
It seems gravity defying necklines are having a bit of a moment.
