Seth Rogen Plays a Movie Studio Chief in Completely Over His Head in “The Studio” - See the First Look!
Catherine O'Hara, Bryan Cranston and other A-listers appear in the upcoming Apple TV+ comedy
Getting a movie off the ground is a huge task — just ask Seth Rogen’s character Matt Remick in The Studio.
In Apple TV+’s new drama, debuting Wednesday, March 26, Rogen, 42, stars as the new head of Continental Studios.
“As movies struggle to stay alive and relevant, Matt and his core team of infighting executives battle their own insecurities as they wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films,” the synopsis reads, adding, “As someone who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies, it's the job Matt's been pursuing his whole life, and it may very well destroy him."
In the teaser for The Studio, Matt and Patty (Catherine O'Hara) converse at a home with a sprawling view of Los Angeles.

“I got into this because, you know, I love movies,” Matt tells Patty. “But now I have this fear that my job is to ruin them.”
“The job is a meat grinder,” Patty replies.
The teaser cuts to Matt walking the Continental Studios’ lot with several colleagues, including Kathryn Hahn’s character.
“At the Continental, we don't make artsy, fartsy films,” Griffin (Bryan Cranston) muses. “We make movies… Movies!”
In another scene, Matt stares wide-eyed on the set of one of the studio’s films.

“Being the head of the Continental is the only job I've ever wanted. It's just so much harder than I thought it was gonna be,” he admits.
In a short montage, heavyweights like Martin Scorsese, Charlize Theron and Ron Howard lob criticisms at Matt.
“You're talentless, spineless,” Scorsese says.
“Get the f--- out of here,” Theron adds.
“You f----- suit. Piece of s---,” Howard yells, tossing his hat at Matt, who falls over and shatters a tray table behind him.

Cutting back to Matt and Patty’s quiet conversation at the start of the clip, Patty assures a doubtful Matt he’ll “make a great studio head” before the show’s title card appears.
In addition to Rogen and Hahn, Apple TV+’s new 10-episode half-hour comedy stars Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders, while Cranston will guest star. Rogen, as well as Evan Goldberg, also wrote, directed and executive produced the project.
