I’m a Sephora Rouge, and here’s how I save so much money at the Sephora spring sale
Our team is dedicated to finding and telling you more about the products and deals we love. If you love them too and decide to purchase through the links below, we may receive a commission. Pricing and availability are subject to change.
As a professional online shopper (yes, I love my job), I can definitively say that I am great at shopping. I can sniff out a good deal from miles away and tend to have roughly 728 products in my cart at any given time. So, let me help you build your online shopping cart. Whether you’re shopping for major sale events like Prime Day or just upgrading your wardrobe, I’ll always give you the must-have picks.
Not to put me on the spot, but I don’t think anyone gets quite as hyped as I do for the semi-annual Sephora Sale.
If you’re a beauty lover like me, I’m sure you already have your eyes set on a few things from the retailer during the 2023 Sephora spring sale. However, not only am I a beauty editor for a living, but I’m also a Sephora Rouge member, which is the highest Beauty Insider tier. That means I’ve learned a few hacks for shopping the Sephora Sale without spending an entire paycheck.
The company’s spring sale and all of the dope savings can be super overwhelming. We all want the best value on all of the shiny new products. Stick with me, and I can teach you my expert ways.
Wait, what is the Sephora Sale?
Here’s the deal with the Sephora Sale: The Sephora Springs Saving Event is happening online and in stores for all Sephora Beauty Insider members (you can sign up for free!), and literally everything is on sale. Yes, everything. All you need to do is use the code SAVINGS at checkout.
Depending on your Beauty Insider status, there are different deals for different tiers, with Sephora Rouge members getting the most benefits. Here’s the breakdown:
ROUGE: Members of the highest Beauty Insider tier have first access to the sale and 20% off their purchase.
VIB: Members of the middle tier can shop Sephora products with a 15% discount.
INSIDER: The lowest beginner tier gets access to the Sephora Sale and a 10% discount off their entire purchase.
While that’s just the price breakdown across membership tiers, all Beauty Insider members can also take 30% off Sephora Collection products.
Make sense? No matter what your Sephora Beauty Insider status is, you’ve got to take advantage of these semi-annual savings.
OK, so when is the Sephora Sale this year?
This year, the Sephora spring sale starts on April 14 and lasts through April 24. That’s 10 days of beauty-saving goodness to take advantage of.
Now that the logistics are all squared away, I can tell you the foolproof secrets that save me money at the Sephora Sale every year. Scroll below to take advantage of my expert Sephora Rouge tips and shop a handful of the best Sephora spring sale products, from skin care to hair, makeup and more.
1. Stock up on jumbo sizes of your go-to products
Taking advantage of discounts on viral TikTok products is tempting, but I suggest you stop that train of thought before it goes way off the tracks. Just because a viral product works for someone else doesn’t mean it will also work the same for you!
Save any time you would spend returning said viral items and restock your collection with the majorly discounted jumbo sizes.
Laura Mercier Jumbo Translucent Loose Setting Powder & Velour Puff, $49 ($84 value)
First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub with 10% AHA, $34
Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask, $124 ($152 value)
2. Check out the gift and value sets
New summer drops at Sephora mean gift sets upon gift sets upon gift sets. Shopping gift and value sets can save money because products are bundled together for less. Also, they tend to come with cute little extras like pouches.
Glow Recipe Fruit Babies Bestsellers Kit, $34
Sephora Favorites Hottest in Haircare, $35 ($91 value)
Summer Fridays The Vault Set, $375 ($450 value)
3. Shop the Sephora Collection
Honestly, everyone is sleeping on The Sephora Collection. There are many great (and honestly better) products for a fraction of the price. Unlike the rest of the sale, everything from the Sephora Collection is 30% off. I always get a new Sephora Collection brush set during the event.
Sephora Collection Melting Cleansing Balm Cleanse + Balance, $12
Sephora Collection Reusable Cotton Pads, $10
Sephora Collection Sephora Colorful Eyeshadow, $10
4. Get all of the sunscreen
It’s super important to apply (and reapply) SPF daily — especially since summer is around the corner. Of course, this means you’re going through more sunscreen than you ever thought possible. I always stock up on sunscreen to ensure I don’t get skin cancer while protecting my wallet. Luckily, Sephora has some of the best SPF options around — including a jumbo pump bottle of Supergoop!
CAY SKIN Isle Glow Body Lotion SPF 45 with Sea Moss and Cocoa Seed Butter, $38
Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+, $30
Supergoop! PLAY Everyday Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 PA++++, $34
5. Buy just one splurge item
Even though we’re all about saving money here, what’s a good sale without splurging on an item you would never buy at full price? It’s the best time to finally grab that fancy perfume, luxurious skin cream or Dyson hair tool you’ve been eyeing. A little treat for yourself!
Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler Complete Long, $599
TOM FORD Lost Cherry, $395
Augustinus Bader The Cream with TFC8® Face Moisturizer, $290
