In a video shared to Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 9, Oppenheim, 47, announced that his and twin brother Brett Oppenheim's real estate brokerage, The Oppenheim Group, would be offering to represent displaced residents without any fees.
“I woke up this morning to a lot of friends and clients reaching out because they lost their homes the last couple of days, and they need help with places to live now; their families are displaced," Oppenheim said in the video clip. "As real estate agents, we obviously have an obligation to help them find a place even when it's going to be difficult, with thousands of people looking for places and not nearly as many houses available."
"But the Oppenheim group is offering to represent anybody for free or we will credit you back any commission paid if you’ve lost your house and you’re now displaced. We will help you find a place or do our best to help you find a place to rent," the Netflix personality stated, while encouraging those in need to reach out to the Oppenheim Group for help.
“Real estate agents need to come together and work hard for the community," the real estate mogul added, noting, "This is our time to be able to give back, so reach out to us."
Fans and colleagues alike were in awe of Oppenheim's generous offer, including one user on Instagram who called him a "class act" for the kind gesture.
"This is so beyond kind 👏👏👏," added Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi.
"As an agent living in Florida. A state that suffer major catastrophic events every year this is beyond amazing to see and inspiring! Great agents are out there and this proves!" someone else wrote in the comments.
Orange County agent Polly Brindle chimed in on the post to say, "We are ready to help down in OC! ❤️," while LA agent Davina Potratz added, "Yes, ready to serve 🙏💯❤️."
