The proof is in the real estate commissions.

Since Netflix’s Selling Sunset premiered in 2019, celebrities with a knack for real estate and a cast member of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing: Los Angeles have questioned whether or not The Oppenheim Group agents actually sell real estate for a living.

"I will say, I look at L.A. real estate a lot and have never seen any of these people lol [neither] have our agents, who I have obsessively asked," Chrissy Teigen wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in August 2020.

Jason Oppenheim, president and founder of The Oppenheim Group, addressed Teigen’s comments during an interview with PEOPLE just days later.

"Any insinuation that the agents on our show are not experienced, successful, or licensed, evidences a complete disregard for the facts,” he said. “Even a superficial investigation would identify previous team photos, hundreds of millions in transacted sales, and more than 50 years of combined licensed real estate experience from these agents.”

According to the California Department of Real Estate, the entire cast of Selling Sunset season 8 has active real estate licenses except for Amanza Smith, whose license expired in March 2024.

Still, Million Dollar Listing’s Josh Flagg isn’t convinced. When asked about Selling Sunset on Watch What Happens Live in July 2024, he said: “I only like to watch licensed real estate brokers. How bout them apples?”

From their license statuses to homes sold, here’s everything we know about the Selling Sunset cast’s real estate careers.

Yes! The Selling Sunset season 8 cast (minus Amanza Smith) all have valid real estate licenses.

Chrishell Stause, who formerly starred on the daytime soap opera Days of our Lives, earned her real estate license in 2016. According to The Multiple Listing Service (MLS), she recently co-listed and sold a house for $3.5 million with Jason in August 2024.

Mary Bonnet obtained her real estate license in 2008 and is the vice president of The Oppenheim Group. Over the course of her career, she has sold more than $105 million in real estate, per her bio.

Emma Hernan earned her license in 2019, two years before joining Selling Sunset season 4. Her latest sale marked on the MLS took place in June 2024 for $4.3 million. Chelsea Lazkani obtained her real estate license in 2017. Prior to joining The Oppenheim Group, she worked for Rodeo Realty.

Bre Tiesi also earned her license in 2017. She worked for Agents of LA and Forward Beverly Hills before joining The Oppenheim Group. Most recently, she sold a home for $4.9 million in June 2024. Nicole Young became a licensed real estate agent in 2016. According to Zillow, she sold a house for $1.7 million in 2022.

Alanna Gold, the newest member of the Selling Sunset cast, obtained her license during the COVID-19 pandemic. She went on to work for the Westside Estate Agency before joining The Oppenheim Group.

Amanza Smith also earned her license in 2020. However, it expired in March 2024.

Brett and Jason Oppenheim are fifth-generation real estate agents. Per Brett's website, in 1889, Jacob Stern — Jason and Brett’s ancestor — founded The Stern Realty Co. and became one of Los Angeles’ first real estate moguls.

After brief careers as lawyers, Jason and Brett renamed the family business The Oppenheim Group in 2013. According to their website, the brokerage has made more than $3.5 billion in sales between four offices: Los Angeles, Newport Beach, San Diego and Cabo San Lucas.

Brett left The Oppenheim Group in 2020 to launch his own brokerage, Oppenheim Real Estate. Former Selling Sunset cast member Christine Quinn confirmed the news to Glamour that year.

Meanwhile, Emma has a plant-based frozen food brand, Emma Leigh and Co., which she launched in 2022. The company is known for its mini empanadas. Outside of selling homes, Alanna also owns part of a town in the California desert called Pioneertown.

Chrishell has continued acting and took a turn on Dancing with the Stars in 2020, earning 8th place.

Several of the other cast members are influencers, including Bre, Nicole and Chelsea.
