Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift Geek Out Over ‘Vanderpump Rules’
And Gomez called Swift a "big sister."
Selena Gomez is proving that she and BFF Taylor Swift are just like us in a very surprising way. During a new interview with Vanity Fair, Gomez opened up about her not-so-guilty pleasure of watching Bravo shows, just like so, so many of us. And while fans may assume that she and Swift are comparing notes about songs and producers and not what's happening behind the scenes at Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant empire, those fans would be wrong, because Gomez shared that she and Swift are more often talking about TV than what tracks they plan on releasing next.
“She is really like a big sister to me," Gomez said before revealing that she and Swift love to compare notes on the Bravo shows they watch, like Vanderpump Rules. "I’m on The Valley now. I’ve watched every episode of Vanderpump, so I don’t care if it’s bad!"
Unfortunately for anyone hoping for new music from Gomez or a duet with Swift, the actress and Disney Channel alum explained that she doesn't have anything in the works just yet. She told VF that music is a "vulnerable space" and that she's focusing on her acting career at he moment, calling her foray into recording music as a "hobby" that went a little further than she ever intended. However, she did note that music "is a part of who I am" and that she'll never abandon it completely.
“I don’t know if I’m ready, you know?” she said. “It’s a vulnerable space. Acting has always been my first love. Music is just a hobby that went out of control. So, I don’t think I’m going anywhere. I’m just not ready yet.”
Fans will remember that Gomez had a cameo in Swift's "Bad Blood" music video and that she's joined her on stage many, many times in the past, so a duet isn't completely out of the realm of possibilities, it might just take some time.
