Selena Gomez Shares Series of Selfies with Different 'Faces, Phases'

The actress/singer also shared her frustrations over plastic surgery rumors on Saturday, July 27

On Sunday, July 28, the singer/actress, 32, shared a new series of selfies on Instagram.

"faces, phases," Gomez captioned the post.

In the first image, the Only Murders in the Building star poses in bed and sports a green top with the words "Pickle Princess" emblazoned on the front. The second photo features Gomez blowing a kiss at the camera and holding her hand close to her mouth. In the third snap, the "Back to You" artist is pictured in the back of a car, wearing a leather bag, a hoodie and sweatpants and looking off to the side.

The fourth image features Gomez taking a photo in front of a mirror in a living area, and the fifth picture shows the "Single Soon" performer in a robe with glam. In her sixth snap, Gomez shares a barefaced look. In the final image, Gomez shares a photo where she's sporting rose-hued makeup while tilting her head to the side.

The Disney alum's latest post comes just one day after she addressed speculation that she's had cosmetic surgery.

“Honestly I hate this," Gomez on a TikTok. "I have Botox. That’s it. Leave me alone."

She made a comment on a 2023 video shared by Marissa Barrionuevo, a Florida plastic surgeon assistant who makes educational videos about cosmetic surgery and often speculates on which procedures celebrities have had done.

When it came to a clip about Gomez, the TikToker didn't make any guesses. She instead noted that Gomez’s lupus diagnosis could explain “changes” in her appearance.

"I literally have no idea what she has gotten done," said Barrionuevo in the video. "I think she's been through so much in her life, especially medically related, so I don't think it's fair to speculate whether or not she's gotten cosmetic things done."

She concluded: "At the end of the day, let's just leave her be."

While Barrionuevo didn't comment on Gomez's procedures, she did share side-by-side images of the "Fetish" hitmaker, one of her from a few years back and another from the 2023 Golden Globes.

That prompted comments from followers as well as Gomez herself.

"I was on stripes because of flare up," she wrote, with many assuming "stripes" was an autocorrect for "steroids."

The TikToker ultimately issued a video apology following Gomez's response on Sunday, July 28.

Barrionuevo said she hopes the "Who Says" singer "does not hate me."

“I agree with you, I do think we should leave you alone and I said that in the video. I totally understand you still not appreciating it," she said in the clip.

Barrionuevo added that she was unsure if Gomez’s comment was directed towards her or the speculation over her appearance in general as she continued to empathize with the star.

“You don’t owe it to anyone to tell us why you don't look the same as what you did when you were a teenager, or in your 20s,” the content creator said, before apologizing.
